# Flaming Athena: The Light of Revelation

Athena was the Olympian goddess of wisdom and good counsel, war, the defense of cities, heroic endeavour, weaving, pottery and various other arts. She was depicted as a majestic woman armed with a shield and spear and wearing a long robe, helmet and the famous "goat" - a snake - adorned with the monstrous face of the Mermaid Medusa. The costume is designed exclusively to highlight the history and mythology of the city of Athens through the element of fire. A fire theatre performance unique on a global scale.
