Rain Dance

The "Rain Dance" is historically considered a ritual dance intended to bring rain and ensure the protection of the Spartans. In Indian dances we find the rain dance where during the ceremony the Indians wore feathers and turquoise stones that symbolized wind and rain respectively.

In Greek mythology we find the rain of love when Zeus, in love with the daughter of the king of Argos Danae, fell from the roof of her cell like golden rain and reached her arms.

The performer Tonia Banila presents us a research-dance performance that brings us rain and change through her dance.
